Moonstone

Moonstone is a variety of the feldspar-group mineral Orthoclase.  Its name is derived from a visual effect , or sheen, caused by the microscopic layering of the feldspar.

This sheen creates an almost unearthly beautiful glow that many early civilizations believed came from the Moons rays.

Some Moonstones have a milky white hue with almost rainbow-like colours while others are glassy and more transparent.

Each piece is wonderfully unique and even the smallest specimen can generate the most amazing colour pattern.

Most of our stone set designs have a moonstone option and it is a firm favourite amongst our Brighton customers.

The jewellery below can all be made using Moonstone, take a look!
