Labradorite

Labradorite is a variety of the feldspar-group mineral Plagioclase.  Its is named after Labrador in Canada, where it was discovered on the Isle of Paul in 1770.

Lore of the Inuit peoples claim the gemstone fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, possibly due to the stones beautiful dark rainbow-like effect of blue, green, brown and purple across it's grey-black surface.

Another personal favourite of ours, Labradorite is especially popular due to its variety in depth of colour and no two pieces are ever the same, making each individual piece completely unique.

The jewellery below can all be made using Labradorite, take a look!
