Amethyst is the purple hued variety of Quartz, a natural gemstone available in a multitude of colours. The name Amethyst is derived from the Greek work Amethustos, ('A' meaning 'not' and 'methustos' meaning 'to intoxicate') and comes from stories of wealthy lords using Amethyst cups to disguise water as wine to avoid being seen drunk in front of other nobles at gatherings and feasts.
We use Amethyst in most of our stone set designs and it is one of our most popular gemstones.
The jewellery below can all be made using Amethyst, take a look!
